Zavaglia and Tamasi Win Opening Rounds

Sam Zavaglia won the fourth a final race on a drying track at Mallala Motor Sport Park to win the opening round of the Australian Superkart Championships after tearaway local racer Yiani Harpas slithered off the track at Clubhouse Corner into the tyre barriers.

Safe Evolutions team mates Shane Price and Darren Hossack finished second and third.

Steven Tamasi won the final race and the round for the 125cc with three of the four races wins while Jeff Reed and Rod Conn tie for second position.

Zavaglia leads the points 75 to Hossack's 61 and Yiani Harpas 57 heading into the next round at Sydney's Eastern Creek Raceway.

Chermaz Claims First Top Ten in Europe

Carlo Chermaz has finished eighth in the first race at round 2 of the CIK European Superkart Championship being held at Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic.

Harpas Holds Off Pegoraro

Yiani Harpas backed up his race 2 victory after a thrilling fight with Gary Pegoraro for the win in Race 3 at the Australian Superkart Championship, at the Mallala Motor Sport Park round of the Shannons Nationals motor Racing Championships.

Harpas Takes First Win

Yiani Harpas broke through for his first Australian Superkart Championship race win after a three lap duel with Sam Zavaglia, before Harpas driving the Zip Eagle-BRC supported by Internode, Metaplanners and Davtec, raced clear to win Race 2 at Mallala Motor Sport Park round of the Shannons Nationals Motor Racing Championships.
