SKA_AMRC_Rotax NGB Issues ClarificationPosted by Phil Silcock, 27 August 2010, 5:16 PM |
SKA has in recent times been in communication with both the AMRC and CAMS Ltd to seek clarification of the situation in relation to a so called ‘CAMS Non-Gearbox Rotax Nationals’ being promoted to superkarters. Both the SKA and SWG have concerns that certain claims in advertising and web posts could be misleading and misrepresent the particular event status.
Recently the Australian Motor Race Commission of CAMS LTD published meeting minutes for 15th July 2010 which included the following in clarification:
AMRC 1475 SKA Nationals
The Commission discussed further some of the issues currently being highlighted within the Superkarts class. Mike Barry submitted a report on the topic, covering the general issues to be discussed by the Commission. The issues noted were that the SKA were concerned about the fact that the AMRC condoned the Adelaide Superkart club to run a Nationals event.
The Commission resolved to write to the SKA and Adelaide Superkart Club to clarify that the Nationals event is to be run as a Multi Club event with no Championship to be awarded and that promotional material should reflect this intent. The Commission re-confirmed its previous decision to allow State Superkart Clubs to run non-championship "Nationals‟ style events.
The Commission would like to confirm the SKA as the delegated authority for Superkarts Championship events and request that they continue to work within their charter to develop Australian Championship Superkart events.
ACTION: Chairman to write to SKA & ASCC.
Bold type and underline by SKA for emphasis.Although the above mentioned written communication from the AMRC has not been received to date, SKA believes that the AMRC Minute is not ambiguous in any way and clearly sets out the status of the event and clearly states that no Championship is to be awarded, and as a consequence no meaningful award of number/s plate/s will result. SKA believes that all superkarters should have this accurate information and understand the regulations that govern the event in SA in November.
