MORGAN PARK – PIT ARRANGEMENTS

Australian Superkart Championships
AUGUST 14TH/15TH

With the close of entries we have a very good level of forty-two entrants across the three classes. With this excellent entry response comes the logistal problems of pitting etc, and SKA has been in intense discussion with organisers to get a good outcome for our category.
The following extract is from a Shannons note to Category managers sent today:

Series Director Shannons - “We are doing our best to finalise carport/marquee allocations. This is one of the most difficult tasks that we have to do as part of managing the Shannons Nationals, simply because we can’t always fit everyone in and/or put competitors where they want to be.

One thing we know is that the new track at Morgan Park is going to be very, very good for drivers, but you also need to know that the paddock facilities/carports are not good at all compared to the other race tracks that we go to, and the task of allocating the carports is much more difficult than anywhere else.

The location of the carports does not suit a national level meeting and there aren’t enough of them. Also, it will not be possible for most competitors to back their transporters up to their carports.

We are doing our best to work out the allocations, and one thing I am certain of is that no-one is going to be completely happy. I know you are all important but no one is more important than anyone else.”

SKA will advise our competitors by announcement when we have been given a firm situation with pitting arrangements. We expect this to be early this coming week.
