Yiani Harpas backed up his race 2 victory after a thrilling fight with Gary Pegoraro for the win in Race 3 at the Australian Superkart Championship, at the Mallala Motor Sport Park round of the Shannons Nationals motor Racing Championships.
Harpas moved into the lead on the first lap of the race taking the lead from the again fast starting Sam Zavaglia on the run down the back straight but was forced to defend from the fast closing Gary Pegoraro. Pegoraro briefly jumped into the lead at the end of lap five, but a missed gear put Harpas back into a lead he would not relinquish on the last lap. Harpas now holds a seven point lead on Zavaglia heading into the final bonus points race of the weekend.
Zavaglia was pushed hard for third position as Darren Hossack climbed onto the back of the Stockman in the late running.
