Newly crowned Australian Superkart Champion Darren Hossack has received a nomination for the CAMS Motor Sport Personality of the Year award. The award, proudly sponsored by Shannons seeks to recognise competitors who, through their actions both during and outside of competition, are good ambassadors for Australian Motor Sport.

The award has been won previously by V8 Supercar racers Craig Lowndes, Marcos Ambrose and Grant Denyer, husband and wife rally pairing Simon and Sue Evans and Marcus Zukanovic. Zukanovic won the award in 2006, the year he recorded the rare feat of winning two national series in the same year, V8 Utes and Commodore Cup. This weekend sees Hossack poised to emulate Zukanovic, and Mark Skaife before him, as he leads the Kerrick Sports Sedan Series pointscore into the final round at Sandown Raceway.

The award is decided by popular vote, with voting being conducted through CAMS' website here
