Superkarts Australia
2020 National Series
Unfortunately due to the increasing seriousness of the situation surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak in Australia, SKA has come to the inevitable decision to postpone the first round of the SKA Nationals at The Bend Motorsport Park on 25-26th April 2020. Not only do the current travel restrictions make the event unfeasible, but it is felt that the safety of competitors, team members and loved ones must be prioritised.
The superkart practice day scheduled for Friday 27th March at the Bend Motorsport Park is not an SKA event and at this stage is still going ahead according to "The Bend" management with twelve SA Superkarters already entered. SKA urges Superkarters to follow advice from the Australian government and health officials before deciding on attending.
We apologise that this announcement comes only days before the scheduled practice day, however recent increases in COVID-19 cases in South Australia and government announcements on the weekend such as the 14-day isolation period for people arriving in South Australia from interstate have left no other option.
Finally, SKA will make every effort to reschedule the First Round of the SKA Nationals for another date later in the year but for now our priority is the safety and well-being of the Australian Superkarters and their families and friends, plus the Australian community as a whole.
Stay safe,
Superkarts Australia Team
